Too Late Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBACBBA DEFDEF

WHEN Love sweet Love was tangled in my snareA
I clipped his wings and dressed his cage with flowersB
Made him my little joy for little hoursB
And fed him when I had a song to spareA
And then I saw how good life's good things wereC
The kingdoms and the glories and the powersB
Flowers grew in sheaves and stars were shed in showersB
And when the great things wearied Love was thereA
-
-
But when within his cage one winter dayD
I found him lying still with folded wingsE
No longer fluttering eager to be fedF
Kingdoms and powers and glories passed awayD
And of life's countless precious priceless thingsE
Nothing was left but Love and Love was deadF
