The Gray Folk Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBA CDDC EFFE CGGC

THE house with blind unhappy faceA
Stands lonely in the last year's cornB
And in the grayness of the mornB
The gray folk come about the placeA
-
By many pathways gliding grayC
They come past meadow wood and woldD
Come by the farm and by the foldD
From the green fields of yesterdayC
-
Past lock and chain and bolt and barE
They press to stand about my bedF
And like the faces of the deadF
I know their hidden faces areE
-
They will not leave me in the dayC
And when night falls they will not goG
Because I silenced long agoG
The only voice that they obeyC
