The Glow-worm To Her Love Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCE FGFG HIHI JKLK

BENEATH cool ferns in dewy grassA
Among the leaves that fringe the streamB
I hear the feet of lovers passA
I hide all day and dreamB
-
-
But when the night with wide soft wingsC
Droops on the trembling waiting woodD
And lulls the restless woodland thingsC
Within its solitudeE
-
-
Ah then my soft green lamp I lightF
That thou may'st find me by its fireG
Come crown me O my winged delightF
My darling my desireG
-
-
Yet they who praise the lamp I bearH
Have never a word of praise for theeI
My love my life my King of AirH
Who lightest the lamp in meI
-
-
Thine thine should be the praise they giveJ
My King who art all praise aboveK
Since but for thee I dream and liveL
And light the lamp of loveK
