The Death Of Agnes Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCE FGFGHDHE

Now that the sunlight dies in my eyesA
And the moonlight grows in my hairB
I who was never very wiseA
Never was very fairB
Virgin and martyr all my lifeC
What has life left to giveD
Me who was never mother nor wifeC
Never got leave to liveE
-
Nothing of life could I clasp or claimF
Nothing could steal or saveG
So when you come to carve my nameF
Give me life in my graveG
To keep me warm when I sleep aloneH
A lie is little to giveD
Call me 'Magdalen' on my stoneH
Though I died and did not liveE
