The Choice Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAC DEDE FGFG HIHJ

PLAGUE take the dull and dusty townA
Its paved and sordid mazesB
Now Spring has trimmed her pretty gownA
With buttercups and daisiesC
-
-
With half my heart I long to lieD
Among the flowered grassesE
And hear the loving leaves that sighD
As their sweet Mistress passesE
-
-
Through picture shows I make my wayF
While flower crowned maids go mayingG
And all the cultured things I sayF
That cultured folk are sayingG
-
-
For I renounce Spring's darling faceH
With may bloom fresh upon itI
My Mistress lives in Grosvenor placeH
And wears a Bond street bonnetJ
