Saturday Song Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCCBCCDC EFGGFHHIJKKJ LMLMNOPO QRQRDDSSDTTD

They talk about gardens of rosesA
And moonlight over the seaB
And mountains and snowC
And sunsetty glowC
But I know what is best for meB
The prettiest sight I knowC
Worth all your roses and snowC
Is the blaze of light on a Saturday nightD
When the barrows are set in a rowC
-
I've heard of bazaars in IndiaE
All glitter and spices and smellsF
But they don't compareG
With the naphtha flareG
And the herrings the coster sellsF
And the oranges piled like goldH
The cucumbers lean and coldH
And the red and white block trimmingsI
And the strawberries fresh and ripeJ
And the peas and beansK
And the sprouts and greensK
And the 'taters and trotters and tripeJ
-
And the shops where they sell the chairsL
The mangles and tables and beddingM
And the lovers go by in pairsL
And look and think of the weddingM
And your girl has her arm in yoursN
And you whisper and make her blushO
Oh the snap in her eyes and her smiles and her sighsP
As she fancies the purple plushO
-
And you haven't a penny to spendQ
But you dream that you've pounds and poundsR
And arm in arm with your only friendQ
You make your Saturday roundsR
And you see the cradle brightD
With ribbon lace pink and whiteD
And she stops her laughS
And you drop your chaffS
In the light of the Saturday nightD
And the world is newT
For her and youT
A little bit of all rightD
