Rhyme Scheme: ABCB ADDD AEDE

What do the roses do motherA
Now that the summer's doneB
They lie in the bed that is hung with redC
And dream about the sunB
-
What do the lilies do motherA
Now that there's no more JuneD
Each one lies down in her white nightgownD
And dreams about the moonD
-
What can I dream of motherA
With the moon and the sun awayE
Of a rose unborn of an untried thornD
And a lily that lives a dayE
