Mummy Wheat Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBA CDDC EFFG HIIH JKKJ

LAID close to Death these many thousand yearsA
In this small seed Life hid herself and smiledB
So well she hid Death was at least beguiledB
Set free the grain and lo the sevenfold earsA
-
Warmed by the sun wooed by the wind's soft wordC
Under blue canopy they hold their stateD
For this ah was it not worth while to waitD
Through all the centuries of hope deferredC
-
What could they know who laid the seed with DeathE
Of this Divine fruition fixed and plannedF
Love since Life parts us lend my hand your handF
And look with me into the eyes of faithG
-
For here between your hand and mine there liesH
A little seed we trust to Death to keepI
Through unimagined centuries of sleepI
Until the day when Life shall bid it riseH
-
Our harvest waits us Who knows where or howJ
What worlds away wrapped in what coil of painK
But Life shall bid us pluck gold sevenfold grainK
Grown from the love she bids us bury nowJ
