Inspiration Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEG HIHI JKJK

I WANDERED in the enchanted woodA
And as I wandered there I sangB
A song I never understoodA
Though sweet the music rangB
-
I held a lily white and fairC
Its perfume was a song divineD
A song like moonlight and clear airC
No rose hued cloud like mineD
-
Beneath pale moon and wind winged skiesE
My lips were dumb as one drew nearF
Folded warm wings across my eyesE
And whispered in my earG
-
-
He left a flame flower in my handH
And bade me sing as heretoforeI
The song I could not understandH
But I can sing no moreI
-
-
His secret seals my dumb lips fastJ
My lily withered 'neath his wingK
But now I understand at lastJ
The song I used to singK
