By Faith With Thanksgiving Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCDCD EEFGHIHJ

LOVE is no bird that nests and fliesA
No rose that buds and blooms and diesA
No star that shines and disappearsB
No fire whose ashes strew the yearsB
Love is the god who lights the starC
Makes music of the lark's desireD
Love tells the rose what perfumes areC
And lights and feeds the deathless fireD

Love is no joy that dies apaceE
With the delight of dear embraceE
Love is no feast of wine and breadF
Red vintaged and gold harvestedG
Love is the god whose touch divineH
On hands that clung and lips that kissedI
Has turned life's common bread and wineH
Into the Holy EucharistJ
