Zenas Witt Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGEHIJKLMNAO

I was sixteen and I had the most terrible dreamsA
And specks before my eyes and nervous weaknessB
And I couldn't remember the books I readC
Like Frank Drummer who memorized page after pageD
And my back was weak and I worried and worriedE
And I was embarrassed and stammered my lessonsF
And when I stood up to recite I'd forgetG
Everything that I had studiedE
Well I saw Dr Weese's advertisementH
And there I read everything in printI
Just as if he had known meJ
And about the dreams which I couldn't helpK
So I knew I was marked for an early graveL
And I worried until I had a coughM
And then the dreams stoppedN
And then I slept the sleep without dreamsA
Here on the hill by the riverO
