William Jones Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGGHIGJAKL

Once in a while a curious weed unknown to meA
Needing a name from my booksB
Once in a while a letter from YeomansC
Out of the mussel shells gathered along the shoreD
Sometimes a pearl with a glint like meadow rueE
Then betimes a letter from Tyndall in EnglandF
Stamped with the stamp of Spoon RiverG
I lover of Nature beloved for my love of herG
Held such converse afar with the greatH
Who knew her better than II
Oh there is neither lesser nor greaterG
Save as we make her greater and win from her keener delightJ
With shells from the river cover me cover meA
I lived in wonder worshipping earth and heavenK
I have passed on the march eternal of endless lifeL
