When Under The Icy Eaves Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDCC EFEFGHGHCC

When under the icy eavesA
The swallow heralds the sunB
And the dove for its lost mate grievesA
And the young lambs play and runB
When the sea is a plane of glassC
And the blustering winds are stillD
And the strength of the thin snows passC
In mists o'er the tawny hillD
The spirit of life awakesC
In the fresh flags by the lakesC
-
When the sick man seeks the airE
And the graves of the dead grow greenF
Where the children play unawareE
Of the faces no longer seenF
When all we have felt or can feelG
And all we are or have beenH
And all the heart can hide or revealG
Knocks gently and enters inH
The spirit of life awakesC
In the fresh flags by the lakesC
