Wendell P. Bloyd Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIJKLIMNBOPQR SF

They first charged me with disorderly conductA
There being no statute on blasphemyB
Later they locked me up as insaneC
Where I was beaten to death by a Catholic guardD
My offense was thisE
I said God lied to Adam and destined himF
To lead the life of a foolG
Ignorant that there is evil in the world as well as goodH
And when Adam outwitted God by eating the appleI
And saw through the lieJ
God drove him out of Eden to keep him from takingK
The fruit of immortal lifeL
For Christ's sake you sensible peopleI
Here's what God Himself says about it in the book of GenesisM
And the Lord God said behold the manN
Is become as one of us a little envy you seeB
To know good and evil The all is good lie exposedO
And now lest he put forth his hand and takeP
Also of the tree of life and eat and live foreverQ
Therefore the Lord God sent Him forth from the garden of Eden TheR
reason I believe God crucified His Own SonS
To get out of the wretched tangle is because it sounds just like HimF
