Theodore The Poet Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIJKLMNMOP

As a boy Theodore you sat for long hoursA
On the shore of the turbid SpoonB
With deep set eye staring at the door of the crawfish's burrowC
Waiting for him to appear pushing aheadD
First his waving antennae like straws of hayE
And soon his body colored like soap stoneF
Gemmed with eyes of jetG
And you wondered in a trance of thoughtH
What he knew what he desired and why he lived at allI
But later your vision watched for men and womenJ
Hiding in burrows of fate amid great citiesK
Looking for the souls of them to come outL
So that you could seeM
How they lived and for whatN
And why they kept crawling so busilyM
Along the sandy way where water failsO
As the summer wanesP
