To a western breezeA
A row of golden tulips is noddingB
They flutter their golden wingsC
In a sudden ecstasy and sayD
Something comes to us from beyondE
Out of the sky beyond the hillF
We give it to youG
-
-
-
And I walk through rows of jonquilsD
To a beloved doorH
Which you openI
And you stand with the priceless gold of your tulip headJ
Nodding to me and sayingB
Something comes to meK
Out of the mystery of Eternal BeautyK
I give it to youG
-
-
-
There is the morning wonder of hyacinth in your eyesD
And the freshness of June iris in your handsD
And the rapture of gardenias in your bosomL
But your voice is the voice of the robinI
Singing at dawn amid new leavesD
It is like sun light on blue waterM
Where the south wind is on the waterM
And the buds of the flags are greenN
It is like the wild bird of the sedgesD
With fluttering wings on a wind blown reedO
Showering lyrics over the sun lightP
Between rhythmical pausesD
When his heart has stoppedQ
Making light and waterM
Into songR
-
-
-
Let me hear your voiceD
And the voice of Eternal BeautyK
Through the music of your voiceD
Let me gather the iris of your handsD
Against my faceD
And close my eyes with your eyesD
Let me listen with youG
For the VoiceD
