I lavished my admiration upon you | C |
You were to my mind the almost perfect man | D |
You devoured my personality | E |

And the strength of a high souled fealty | E |
And all my hopes for the world | G |
And all my beliefs in Truth | F |
Were smelted up in the blinding heat | H |
Of my devotion to you | C |
And molded into your image | I |
And then when I found what you were | A |
That your soul was small | J |
And your words were false | K |
As your blue white porcelain teeth | L |
And your cuffs of celluloid | M |
I hated the love I had for you | C |

For my wasted soul and wasted youth | F |
And I say to all beware of ideals | N |
