Petit, The Poet Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDCEFCGHICCJCACC

Seeds in a dry pod tick tick tickA
Tick tick tick like mites in a quarrelB
Faint iambics that the full breeze wakensC
But the pine tree makes a symphony thereofD
Triolets villanelles rondels rondeausC
Ballades by the score with the same old thoughtE
The snows and the roses of yesterday are vanishedF
And what is love but a rose that fadesC
Life all around me here in the villageG
Tragedy comedy valor and truthH
Courage constancy heroism failureI
All in the loom and oh what patternsC
Woodlands meadows streams and riversC
Blind to all of it all my life longJ
Triolets villanelles rondels rondeausC
Seeds in a dry pod tick tick tickA
Tick tick tick what little iambicsC
While Homer and Whitman roared in the pinesC
