Paul Mcneely Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSA

Dear Jane dear winsome JaneA
How you stole in the room where I lay so illB
In your nurse's cap and linen cuffsC
And took my hand and said with a smileD
You are not so ill you'll soon be wellE
And how the liquid thought of your eyesF
Sank in my eyes like dew that slipsG
Into the heart of a flowerH
Dear Jane the whole McNeely fortuneI
Could not have bought your care of meJ
By day and night and night and dayK
Nor paid for you smile nor the warmth of your soulL
In your little hands laid on my browM
Jane till the flame of life went outN
In the dark above the disk of nightO
I longed and hoped to be well againP
To pillow my head on your little breastsQ
And hold you fast in a clasp of loveR
Did my father provide for you when he diedS
Jane dear JaneA
