Nellie Clark Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIJKLMNG

I was only eight years oldA
And before I grew up and knew what it meantB
I had no words for it exceptC
That I was frightened and told myD
Mother And that my Father got a pistolE
And would have killed Charlie who was a big boyF
Fifteen years old except for his MotherG
Nevertheless the story clung to meH
But the man who married me a widower of thirty fiveI
Was a newcomer and never heard itJ
'Till two years after we were marriedK
Then he considered himself cheatedL
And the village agreed that I was not really a virginM
Well he deserted me and I diedN
The following winterG
