Nancy Knapp Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFECGHIJKLEMNOPE

Well don't you see this was the way of itA
We bought the farm with what he inheritedB
And his brothers and sisters accused him of poisoningC
His fathers mind against the rest of themD
And we never had any peace with our treasureE
The murrain took the cattle and the crops failedF
And lightning struck the granaryE
So we mortgaged the farm to keep goingC
And he grew silent and was worried all the timeG
Then some of the neighbors refused to speak to usH
And took sides with his brothers and sistersI
And I had no place to turn as one may say to himselfJ
At an earlier time in lifeK
No matter So and so is my friend or I can shake this offL
With a little trip to DecaturE
Then the dreadfulest smells infested the roomsM
So I set fire to the beds and the old witch houseN
Went up in a roar of flameO
As I danced in the yard with waving armsP
While he wept like a freezing steerE
