Mrs. Meyers Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBCDEFGDDD

He protested all his life longA
The newspapers lied about him villainouslyB
That he was not at fault for Minerva's fallB
But only tried to help herC
Poor soul so sunk in sin he could not seeD
That even trying to help her as he called itE
He had broken the law human and divineF
Passers by an ancient admonition to youG
If your ways would be ways of pleasantnessD
And all your pathways peaceD
Love God and keep his commandmentsD
