Mrs. Benjamin Painter Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCCDEFGHIJIKLMNCOPQ

I know that he told how I snared his soulA
With a snare which bled him to deathB
And all the men loved himC
And most of the women pitied himC
But suppose you are really a lady and have delicate tastesD
And loathe the smell of whisky and onionsE
And the rhythm of Wordsworth's Ode runs in your earsF
While he goes about from morning till nightG
Repeating bits of that common thingH
Oh why should the spirit of mortal be proudI
And then supposeJ
You are a woman well endowedI
And the only man with whom the law and moralityK
Permit you to have the marital relationL
Is the very man that fills you with disgustM
Every time you think of it while you think of itN
Every time you see himC
That's why I drove him away from homeO
To live with his dog in a dingy roomP
Back of his officeQ
