Mickey M'grew Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCCDEFGHIJKLHMNO

It was just like everything else in lifeA
Something outside myself drew me downB
My own strength never failed meC
Why there was the time I earned the moneyC
With which to go away to schoolD
And my father suddenly needed helpE
And I had to give him all of itF
Just so it went till I ended upG
A man of all work in Spoon RiverH
Thus when I got the water tower cleanedI
And they hauled me up the seventy feetJ
I unhooked the rope from my waistK
And laughingly flung my giant armsL
Over the smooth steel lips of the top of the towerH
But they slipped from the treacherous slimeM
And down down down I plungedN
Through bellowing darknessO
