Love Is A Madness Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF

Love is a madness love is a fevered dreamA
A white soul lost in a field of scarlet flowersB
Love is a search for the lost the ever vanishing gleamA
Of wings desires and sorrows and haunted hoursB
-
Will the look return to your eyes the warmth to your handC
Love is a doubt an ache love is a writhing fearD
Love is a potion drunk when the ship puts out from landC
Rudderless sails at full and with none to steerD
-
The end is a shattered lamp a drunken seraph asleepE
The upturned face of the drowned on a barren beachF
The glare of noon is o'er us we are ashamed to weepE
The beginning and end of love are devoid of speechF
