Justice Arnett Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIJCJKLMNCOOP BOQ

It is true fellow citizensA
That my old docket lying there for yearsB
On a shelf above my head and overC
The seat of justice I say it is trueD
That docket had an iron rimE
Which gashed my baldness when it fellF
Somehow I think it was shaken looseG
By the heave of the air all over townH
When the gasoline tank at the canning worksI
Blew up and burned Butch WeldyJ
But let us argue points in orderC
And reason the whole case carefullyJ
First I concede my head was cutK
But second the frightful thing was thisL
The leaves of the docket shot and showeredM
Around me like a deck of cardsN
In the hands of a sleight of hand performerC
And up to the end I saw those leavesO
Till I said at last Those are not leavesO
Why can't you see they are days and daysP
And the days and days of seventy yearsB
And why do you torture me with leavesO
And the little entries on themQ
