James Garber Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIJKIJLMNOPJQ RSS

Do you remember passer by the pathA
I wore across the lot where now stands the opera houseB
Hasting with swift feet to work through many yearsC
Take its meaning to heartD
You too may walk after the hills at Miller's FordE
Seem no longer far awayF
Long after you see them near at handG
Beyond four miles of meadowH
And after woman's love is silentI
Saying no more I will save youJ
And after the faces of friends and kindredK
Become as faded photographs pitifully silentI
Sad for the look which means We cannot help youJ
And after you no longer reproach mankindL
With being in league against your soul's uplifted handsM
Themselves compelled at midnight and at noonN
To watch with steadfast eye their destiniesO
After you have these understandings think of meP
And of my path who walked therein and knewJ
That neither man nor woman neither toilQ
Nor duty gold nor powerR
Can ease the longing of the soulS
The loneliness of the soulS
