James Garber Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIJKIJLMNOPJQ RSS| Do you remember passer by the path | A |
| I wore across the lot where now stands the opera house | B |
| Hasting with swift feet to work through many years | C |
| Take its meaning to heart | D |
| You too may walk after the hills at Miller's Ford | E |
| Seem no longer far away | F |
| Long after you see them near at hand | G |
| Beyond four miles of meadow | H |
| And after woman's love is silent | I |
| Saying no more I will save you | J |
| And after the faces of friends and kindred | K |
| Become as faded photographs pitifully silent | I |
| Sad for the look which means We cannot help you | J |
| And after you no longer reproach mankind | L |
| With being in league against your soul's uplifted hands | M |
| Themselves compelled at midnight and at noon | N |
| To watch with steadfast eye their destinies | O |
| After you have these understandings think of me | P |
| And of my path who walked therein and knew | J |
| That neither man nor woman neither toil | Q |
| Nor duty gold nor power | R |
| Can ease the longing of the soul | S |
| The loneliness of the soul | S |
