| And I made speeches all over the County | C |
| Denouncing Solomon Purple my rival | D |
| As an enemy of the people | D |

| Hobbling on one crutch of hope | G |
| Souls that stake their all on the truth | H |
| Losers of worlds at heaven's bidding | I |
| Flocked about me and followed my voice | J |

| But Solomon won the nomination | A |

| And rallied my followers to his standard | L |
| And made him victor made him King | I |
| Of the Golden Mountain with the door | M |
| Which closed on my heels just as I entered | L |
| Flattered by Solomon's invitation | A |
| To be the County board's secretary | C |
| And out in the cold stood all my followers | F |
