| Denouncing Solomon Purple my rival | D |
| As an enemy of the people | D |

| And rallied my followers to his standard | L |

| Of the Golden Mountain with the door | M |
| Which closed on my heels just as I entered | L |
| Flattered by Solomon's invitation | A |
| To be the County board's secretary | C |
| And out in the cold stood all my followers | F |
