Henry Tripp Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGDHIJEKLMNOPBM BQRST

The bank broke and I lost my savingsA
I was sick of the tiresome game in Spoon RiverB
And I made up my mind to run awayC
And leave my place in life and my familyD
But just as the midnight train pulled inE
Quick off the steps jumped Cully GreenF
And Martin Vise and began to fightG
To settle their ancient rivalryD
Striking each other with fists that soundedH
Like the blows of knotted clubsI
Now it seemed to me that Cully was winningJ
When his bloody face broke into a grinE
Of sickly cowardice leaning on MartinK
And whining out We're good friends MartL
You know that I'm your friendM
But a terrible punch from Martin knocked himN
Around and around and into a heapO
And then they arrested me as a witnessP
And I lost my train and staid in Spoon RiverB
To wage my battle of life to the endM
Oh Cully Green you were my saviorB
You so ashamed and drooped for yearsQ
Loitering listless about the streetsR
And trying rags 'round your festering soulS
Who failed to fight it outT
