Hare Drummer Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACAADEFGAAHEEAEAIB

Do the boys and girls still go to Siever'sA
For cider after school in late SeptemberB
Or gather hazel nuts among the thicketsA
On Aaron Hatfield's farm when the frosts beginC
For many times with the laughing girls and boysA
Played I along the road and over the hillsA
When the sun was low and the air was coolD
Stopping to club the walnut treeE
Standing leafless against a flaming westF
Now the smell of the autumn smokeG
And the dropping acornsA
And the echoes about the valesA
Bring dreams of lifeH
They hover over meE
They question meE
Where are those laughing comradesA
How many are with me how manyE
In the old orchards along the way to Siever'sA
And in the woods that overlookI
The quiet waterB
