The days went by like shadows | E |

She was a hunk of sculptor's clay | I |
My secret thoughts were fingers | B |
They flew behind her pensive brow | J |
And lined it deep with pain | K |
They set the lips and sagged the cheeks | L |
And drooped the eye with sorrow | M |
My soul had entered in the clay | I |
Fighting like seven devils | N |
It was not mine it was not hers | B |
She held it but its struggles | N |
Modeled a face she hated | O |
And a face I feared to see | P |
I beat the windows shook the bolts | Q |
I hid me in a corner | R |
And then she died and haunted me | P |
And hunted me for life | S |
