Faith Matheny Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHICJKLMNNMJO

At first you will know not what they meanA
And you may never knowB
And we may never tell youC
These sudden flashes in your soulD
Like lambent lightning on snowy cloudsE
At midnight when the moon is fullF
They come in solitude or perhapsG
You sit with your friend and all at onceH
A silence falls on speech and his eyesI
Without a flicker glow at youC
You two have seen the secret togetherJ
He sees it in you and you in himK
And there you sit thrilling lest the MysteryL
Stand before you and strike you deadM
With a splendor like the sun'sN
Be brave all souls who have such visionsN
As your body's alive as mine is deadM
You're catching a little whiff of the etherJ
Reserved for God HimselfO
