| That in the hall way of the New Court House | B |
| There is a tablet of bronze | C |
| Containing the embossed faces | D |
| Of Editor Whedon and Thomas Rhodes | E |
| And is it true that my successful labors | F |
| In the County Board without which | G |
| Not one stone would have been placed on another | A |
| And the contributions out of my own pocket | H |
| To build the temple are but memories among the people | I |
| Gradually fading away and soon to descend | J |
| With them to this oblivion where I lie | K |
| In truth I can so believe | L |
| For it is a law of the Kingdom of Heaven | M |
| That whoso enters the vineyard at the eleventh hour | A |
| Shall receive a full day's pay | N |
| And it is a law of the Kingdom of this World | O |
| That those who first oppose a good work | P |
| Seize it and make it their own | Q |
| When the corner stone is laid | R |
| And memorial tablets are erected | S |
