And by the white light of a great illuminationA
And by the blood red of brotherhoodB
Draw the sword O RepublicC
Draw the swordD

For the light which is EnglandE
And the resurrection which is RussiaF
And the sorrow which is FranceG
And for peoples everywhereH
Crying in bondageI
And in povertyJ

You have been a leaven in the earth O RepublicC
And a watch fire on the hill top scattering sparksK
And an eagle clanging his wings on a cloud wrapped promontoryH
Now the leaven must be stirredL
And the brands themselves carried and touchedM
To the jungles and the black forestsN
Now the eaglets are grown they are callingO
They are crying to each other from the peaksP
They are flapping their passionate wings in the sunlightQ
Eager for battleR

As a strong man nurses his youthS
To the day of trialR
But as a strong man nurses it no moreH
On the day of trialR
But exults and cries For Victory O StrengthT
And for the glory of my City O treasured youthS
You shall neither save your youthS
Nor hoard your strengthT
Beyond this hour O RepublicC

By the passion of the GaulV
And the strength of the TeutonU

And the hunger of the PoorH
That the white man shall lie down by the black manU
