Conrad Siever Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIJKLMNIOP| Not in that wasted garden | A |
| Where bodies are drawn into grass | B |
| That feeds no flocks and into evergreens | C |
| That bear no fruit | D |
| There where along the shaded walks | E |
| Vain sighs are heard | F |
| And vainer dreams are dreamed | G |
| Of close communion with departed souls | H |
| But here under the apple tree | I |
| I loved and watched and pruned | J |
| With gnarled hands | K |
| In the long long years | L |
| Here under the roots of this northern spy | M |
| To move in the chemic change and circle of life | N |
| Into the soil and into the flesh of the tree | I |
| And into the living epitaphs | O |
| Of redder apples | P |
