Cassius Hueffer Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGBBHIJKL

They have chiseled on my stone the wordsA
His life was gentle and the elements so mixed in himB
That nature might stand up and say to all the worldC
This was a manD
Those who knew me smileE
As they read this empty rhetoricF
My epitaph should have beenG
Life was not gentle to himB
And the elements so mixed in himB
That he made warfare on lifeH
In the which he was slainI
While I lived I could not cope with slanderous tonguesJ
Now that I am dead I must submit to an epitaphK
Graven by a foolL
