| Set fire to the house | B |
| They were trying Dr Duval | C |
| For the murder of Zora Clemens | D |
| And I sat in the court two weeks | E |
| Listening to every witness | F |
| It was clear he had got her in a family | G |
| And to let the child be born | H |
| Would not do | I |
| Well how about me with eight children | J |
| And one coming and the farm | K |
| Mortgaged to Thomas Rhodes | L |
| And when I got home that night | M |
| After listening to the story of the buggy ride | N |
| And the finding of Zora in the ditch | O |
| The first thing I saw right there by the steps | P |
| Where the boys had hacked for angle worms | Q |
| Was the hatchet | R |
| And just as I entered there was my wife | S |
| Standing before me big with child | T |
| She started the talk of the mortgaged farm | K |
| And I killed her | U |
