Barry Holden Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRST KU

The very fall my sister Nancy KnappA
Set fire to the houseB
They were trying Dr DuvalC
For the murder of Zora ClemensD
And I sat in the court two weeksE
Listening to every witnessF
It was clear he had got her in a familyG
And to let the child be bornH
Would not doI
Well how about me with eight childrenJ
And one coming and the farmK
Mortgaged to Thomas RhodesL
And when I got home that nightM
After listening to the story of the buggy rideN
And the finding of Zora in the ditchO
The first thing I saw right there by the stepsP
Where the boys had hacked for angle wormsQ
Was the hatchetR
And just as I entered there was my wifeS
Standing before me big with childT
She started the talk of the mortgaged farmK
And I killed herU
