Arlo Will Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIJGAKDAKLMKN

Did you ever see an alligatorA
Come up to the air from the mudB
Staring blindly under the full glare of noonC
Have you seen the stabled horses at nightD
Tremble and start back at the sight of a lanternE
Have you ever walked in darknessF
When an unknown door was open before youG
And you stood it seemed in the light of a thousand candlesH
Of delicate waxI
Have you walked with the wind in your earsJ
And the sunlight about youG
And found it suddenly shine with an inner splendorA
Out of the mud many timesK
Before many doors of lightD
Through many fields of splendorA
Where around your steps a soundless glory scattersK
Like new fallen snowL
Will you go through earth O strong of soulM
And through unnumbered heavensK
To the final flameN
