Andy The Night-watch Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRIn my Spanish cloak | A |
And old slouch hat | B |
And overshoes of felt | C |
And Tyke my faithful dog | D |
And my knotted hickory cane | E |
I slipped about with a bull's eye lantern | F |
From door to door on the square | G |
As the midnight stars wheeled round | H |
And the bell in the steeple murmured | I |
From the blowing of the wind | J |
And the weary steps of old Doc Hill | K |
Sounded like one who walks in sleep | L |
And a far off rooster crew | M |
And now another is watching Spoon River | N |
As others watched before me | O |
And here we lie Doc Hill and I | P |
Where none breaks through and steals | Q |
And no eye needs to guard | R |
