Ami Green Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGGHIJKL| Not a youth with hoary head and haggard eye | A |
| But an old man with a smooth skin | B |
| And black hair | C |
| I had the face of a boy as long as I lived | D |
| And for years a soul that was stiff and bent | E |
| In a world which saw me just as a jest | F |
| To be hailed familiarly when it chose | G |
| And loaded up as a man when it chose | G |
| Being neither man nor boy | H |
| In truth it was soul as well as body | I |
| Which never matured and I say to you | J |
| That the much sought prize of eternal youth | K |
| Is just arrested growth | L |
