Ami Green Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGGHIJKLNot a youth with hoary head and haggard eye | A |
But an old man with a smooth skin | B |
And black hair | C |
I had the face of a boy as long as I lived | D |
And for years a soul that was stiff and bent | E |
In a world which saw me just as a jest | F |
To be hailed familiarly when it chose | G |
And loaded up as a man when it chose | G |
Being neither man nor boy | H |
In truth it was soul as well as body | I |
Which never matured and I say to you | J |
That the much sought prize of eternal youth | K |
Is just arrested growth | L |
