Welcoming The New Year Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBCDEFEGEGE AHCHCIJIJDEFE AHCKCJLJLMEME

At p mA
COME let us make merry with innocent mirthB
Let us drink to the year that is dyingC
Let us wish one another the best that's on earthB
Now quickly the moments are flyingC
Here waiter Come fill up the glasses againD
Tonight we are here to be merryE
Forgot are the grief and the trouble and painF
That the old fellow brought in his ferryE
Nothing boisterous here as we chat and we drinkG
At the table we've rented for follyE
But in friendship this evening our glasses we clinkG
To welcome the year and be jollyE
-
At p mA
Some old fashioned folks stay at home to be gayH
Where ther'sh never an orchestra playingC
But I like the thrill of a modern cafeH
I believe in all customs obeyingC
Then here's to ush all at the table tonightI
May the New Year bring nothing but gladnessJ
And cheeks that are rosy and eyes that are brightI
And may we know none of its badnessJ
Now waiter just fill up thoshe glasses againD
May you never know sad melancholyE
May the year that is coming bring you little rainF
May you always succeed and be jollyE
-
At mA
Ish a Happy New Year May you alwaysh be gayH
Whoopee for zhe New Year hic arrivingC
Do youshe fellersh know what I'm trying to shaK
Do youshe get hic at what I am drivingC
Ish all right now fellersh lesh fill up zhe glassJ
