Under The Roof Where The Laughter Rings Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCC DEDEFF GHGHIJ KLKLMM

Under the roof where the laughter ringsA
That's where I long to beB
There are all of the glorious thingsA
Meaning so much to meB
There is where striving and toiling endsC
There is where always the rainbow bendsC
-
Under the roof where the children shoutD
There is the perfect restE
There is the clamor of greed shut outD
Ended the ceaseless questE
Battles I fight through the heat of to dayF
Are only to add to their hours of playF
-
Under the roof where the eyes are brightG
There I would build my fameH
There my record of life I'd writeG
There I would sign my nameH
There in laughter and true contentI
Let me fashion my monumentJ
-
Under the roof where the hearts are trueK
There is my earthly goalL
There I am pledged till my work is throughK
Body and heart and soulL
Think you that God will my choice condemnM
If I have never played false to themM
