Under A Tree Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCC DDEEFF GGHHII FFJJKK LLMMNN

UNDER a tree where the breezes blowA
There is the spot that it's good to goA
With the children bronzed by the Summer sunB
Bubbling with laughter and wholesome funB
And I gather them round all the happy clanC
And forget for a while I'm a grizzled old manC
-
Marjorie Florence and fair LucilleD
Freddy and Denny and then we stealD
An hour or two from the clock of lifeE
The quest of gold and the constant strifeE
The clamor and noise of a city dayF
For the peace and joy of a bit of playF
-
Pirate stories for boys we tellG
For there is the place to tell them wellG
With treasure islands we build in sandH
And we mark the spot where the pirates landH
And even the place where the gold was hidI
By that master of pirates old Captain KiddI
-
Then we leave the pirates and run awayF
To the wonderful glens where the fairies playF
And under the tree where the breezes areJ
We summon the fairies with crown and starJ
And I tell of the wonderful things they doK
When the sun is up and the skies are blueK
-
And the far off world may call and callL
But I never hear through my little wallL
Of innocent youngsters that hem me inM
I finish one tale and a new beginM
And there we sit underneath the treeN
Till mother calls all of us in for teaN
