| For the peace and joy of a bit of play | F |

| Pirate stories for boys we tell | G |
| For there is the place to tell them well | G |
| With treasure islands we build in sand | H |
| And we mark the spot where the pirates land | H |
| And even the place where the gold was hid | I |
| By that master of pirates old Captain Kidd | I |

| Then we leave the pirates and run away | F |
| To the wonderful glens where the fairies play | F |
| And under the tree where the breezes are | J |
| We summon the fairies with crown and star | J |
| And I tell of the wonderful things they do | K |
| When the sun is up and the skies are blue | K |

| And the far off world may call and call | L |
| But I never hear through my little wall | L |
| Of innocent youngsters that hem me in | M |
| I finish one tale and a new begin | M |
| And there we sit underneath the tree | N |
| Till mother calls all of us in for tea | N |
