The Lilacs Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFGFHHHH HIHIAJAF

I ALWAYS think of mother whenA
The lilac tree's in bloomB
It seems her soul comes back againA
Upon its sweet perfumeB
And every opal spire that swaysC
Out in the summer sunD
Brings back the good old golden daysC
Before her work was doneD
-
'T was there her smile seemed sweetest andE
'T was there her eyes were brightestF
'T was there that gentlest was her handG
And there her heart was lightestF
And now when blooms the lilac treeH
I feel that she is near meH
Come back again the flowers to seeH
To comfort and to cheer meH
-
All mothers love a lilac treeH
And that is why I love itI
The blossoms know it seems to meH
That angels bend above itI
And when the blooms return againA
My skies become the clearestJ
Because I seem to feel just thenA
That mother dear is nearestF
