Once there was a boy who neverA
Tore his clothes or hardly everA
Never made his sister madB
Never whipped fer bein' badB
Never scolded by his MaC
Never frowned at by his PaC
Always fit fer folks to seeD
Always good as good could beD
-
This good little boy from HeavenE
So I'm told was only sevenE
Yet he never shed real tearsF
When his mother scrubbed his earsG
An' at times when he was dressedH
Fer a party in his bestH
He was careful of his shirtI
Not to get it smeared with dirtI
-
Used to study late at nightJ
Learnin' how to read an' writeJ
When he played a baseball gameK
Right away he always cameK
When his mother called him inL
An' he never made a dinL
But was quiet as a mouseM
when they'd comp'ny in the houseM
-
Liked to wash his hands an' faceN
Liked to work around the placeN
Never when he'd tired of playO
Left his wagon in the wayO
Or his bat an' ball aroundP
Put 'em where they could be foundP
An' that good boy married MaC
An' to day he is my PaC
