Safe At Home Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFE FGHGIJKJ LIMINOPO QRSREPTP

Let the old fire blazeA
An' the youngsters shoutB
An' the dog on the rugC
Sprawl full length outB
An' Mother an' ID
Sort o' settle downE
An' it's little we careF
For the noisy townE
-
Oh it's little we careF
That the wind may blowG
An' the streets grow whiteH
With the drifted snowG
We'll face the stormI
With the break o' dayJ
But to night we'll dreamK
An' we'll sing an' playJ
-
We'll sit by the fireL
Where it's snug an' warmI
An' pay no heedM
To the winter stormI
With a sheltering roofN
Let the blizzard roarO
We are safe at homeP
Can a king say moreO
-
That's all that countsQ
When the day is doneR
The smiles of loveS
And the youngsters' funR
The cares put downE
With the evening gloamP
Here's the joy of allT
To be safe at homeP
