Living Flowers Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEAE FGHIHJKJ LJMJNOPO QADARES

'I'm never alone in the garden ' he said 'I'mA
never alone with the flowersB
It seems like I'm meeting the wonderful deadC
out here with these blossoms of oursB
An' there's never a bush or a plant or a tree butD
somebody loved it of oldE
An' the souls of the angels come talkin' to meA
through the petals of crimson an' goldE
-
'The lilacs in spring bring the mother once moreF
an' she lives in the midsummer roseG
She smiles in the peony clump at the door an'H
sings when the four o'clocks closeI
She loved every blossom God gave us to own an'H
daily she gave it her careJ
So never I walk in the garden alone for I feelK
that the mother's still thereJ
-
'These are the pinks that a baby once kissedL
still spicy with fragrance an' fairJ
The years have been long since her laughter I'veM
missed but her spirit is hovering thereJ
The roses that ramble and twine on the wall wereN
planted by one that was kindO
An' I'm sure as I stand here an' gaze on them allP
that his soul has still lingered behindO
-
'I'm never alone in the garden ' he said 'IQ
have many to talk with an' seeA
For never a flower comes to bloom in its bed butD
it brings back a loved one to meA
An' I fancy whenever I'm bendin' above theseR
blossoms of crimson an' goldE
That I'm seein' an' hearin' the ones that I loveS
who lived in the glad days of old '-
