Fine Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCC DDEEFF GGHHCC IIAACC

Isn't it fine when the day is doneA
And the petty battles are lost or wonA
When the gold is made and the ink is driedB
To quit the struggle and turn asideB
To spend an hour with your boy in playC
And let him race all of your cares awayC
-
Isn't it fine when the day's gone wellD
When you have glorious tales to tellD
And your heart is light and your head is highE
For nothing has happened to make you sighE
To hurry homewards to share the joyF
That your work has won with a little boyF
-
Isn't it fine whether good or badG
Has come to the hopes and the plans you hadG
And the day is over to find him thereH
Thinking you splendid and just and fairH
Ready to chase all your griefs awayC
And soothe your soul with an hour of playC
-
Oh whether the day's been long or briefI
Whether it's brought to me joy or griefI
Whether I've failed or whether I've wonA
It shall matter not when the work is doneA
I shall count it fine if I end each dayC
With a little boy in an hour of playC
