Duty Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCC DEDEFF GHGHII

To do your little bit of toilA
To play life's game with head erectB
To stoop to nothing that would soilA
Your honor or your self respectB
To win what gold and fame you canC
But first of all to be a manC
-
To know the bitter and the sweetD
The sunshine and the days of rainE
To meet both victory and defeatD
Nor boast too loudly nor complainE
To face whatever fates befallF
And be a man throughout it allF
-
To seek success in honest strifeG
But not to value it so muchH
That winning it you go through lifeG
Stained by dishonor's scarlet touchH
What goal or dream you choose pursueI
But be a man whate'er you doI
