Bob White Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDD EEFGHHII CCGFJJDD

Out near the links where I go to playA
My favorite game from day to dayA
There's a friend of mine that I've never metB
Walked with or broken bread with yetB
I've talked to him oft and he's talked to meC
Whenever I've been where he's chanced to beC
He's a cheery old chap who keeps out of sightD
A gay little fellow whose name is Bob WhiteD
-
Bob White Bob White I can hear him callE
As I follow the trail to my little ballE
Bob White Bob White with a note of cheerF
That was just designed for a mortal earG
Then I drift far off from the world of menH
And I send an answer right back to him thenH
An' we whistle away to each other thereI
Glad of the life which is ours to shareI
-
Bob White Bob White May you live to beC
The head of a numerous familyC
May you boldly call to your friends out hereG
With never an enemy's gun to fearF
I'm a better man as I pass alongJ
For your cheery call and your bit of songJ
May your food be plenty and skies be brightD
To the end of your days good friend Bob WhiteD
